The daffodil is the national flower of Wales. The Welsh for Daffodil is 'Cenhmen Pedr' (Peter's Leek). To celebrate their national patron the Welsh wear a daffodil on St. Davids Day. The Leek has been used to identify Welsh military units since the 7th century.
